Finding the perfect Christmas tree!

I know, I know.. I’ve obsessed about getting a beautiful 8’ flocked Christmas tree this year, but it just didn’t work out.

Which is totally ok, because the tree we ended up with is AMAZING! But the journey was a titch difficult.

We have this fake tree in our basement, and for the past few years, it’s been the tree we’ve used.

I never much cared about Christmas before this year, so I never cared much about the tree. This tree claims it is 6’ (it is so not!) and has a more slim body. It was a perfect tree for our last homes because our living room was always a lot smaller.

This year, we have a new home, and our living room, dining room and kitchen are all one large area.

I gave up on getting my dream tree, grabbed the tree downstairs and started putting it together and fluffing it up. That’s when I realized- this is NOT gonna work out. The area we have for our tree is massive. This tree looked puny. Not to mention, the tree box my husband made, made the tree look even smaller! It was terrible. I’ll be honest, I cried. I’m such a baby sometimes, but this year, I just want a beautiful Christmas. And this tree was not going to work! My husband and I decided that we were going to donate the old tree and we were going to buy a live tree this year.

We did some research online, and drove around for a while the other night, until we ended up at our final destination. A cute little Christmas tree lot in American Fork. As we wandered the lot, the prices were outrageous, and we were concerned they would all be because the news wrote an article about the cost of trees going up because of the Droughts and Fires.

We weren’t seeing any tree for under $80. And I was not about to buy an $80 tree!! We passed by a few tree with no price on them that we were actually living, so we asked how much they were, and shockingly the 8.5’ one we really liked was only $64! This tree was full, fluffy and looked like it would fit perfectly in the spot we had for it at home!

We decided to buy it and take it home to be a part of out cute family.
